Back in the Saddle with a Handy Little Detail Family
It's been too long since I made a video for the channel. What can I say, work got a little overwhelming and life even more so.. but we're back. You'll be seeing a lot more action on the channel in the weeks and months ahead, or so I intend. I wanted to get back into it with something relatively straight forward but useful. In this video we build a line based detail family for use as a marking up or highlighting tool. The family you see me make in the video is actually the family I am going to put into use. I show a dummy version of it at the start of the video but that one had flaws in it.
I made this "mark-up" tool for my architect client to mark-up views in a collaborative Revit model. I know, there are already lots of ways to comment on door types and room layouts, but, now there's another one! I expect I may end up using this family myself mostly for queries back to my clients. Anyway, I hope you find it useful. If not the Revit family itself, then surely the process of making the family with the nested generic annotation tag will build your Revit knowledge.
